When the dinosaur-killing asteroid struck Earth, most of the impact energy was directed outwards and upwards into space. Only 1% of the force traveled down into the ground, but it was enough to ring the planet like a bell and wipeout species around the globe. Only those creatures able to seek shelter from the intense heat on the surface survived. https://youtu.be/go6tmmhE2N0 A Supervolcano Waking Up In The USA -6/8/2017 A supervolcano which in case of eruption will blow all of North America and doom half of the world to slow death is starting to wake up. Can’t we do anything about it? First let’s decide on what is a supervolcano. It’s nothing like a regular volcano – a cone-shaped formation with a vent – it’s more of a huge depression with the eruption area covering a few thousand square kilometers. For instance, a supervolcanic eruption on the Indonesian island of Sumatra caused six years of sulfuric acid rains. Add to this the...

www.zerooneanimation.com A Day in Pompeii, a Melbourne Winter Masterpieces exhibition, was held at Melbourne Museum from 26 June to 25 October 2009. Over 330,000 people visited the exhibition -- an average of more than 2,700 per day -- making it the most popular traveling exhibition ever staged by an Australian museum. Zero One created the animation for an immersive 3D theatre installation which gave visitors a chance to feel the same drama and terror of the town's citizens long ago, and witness how a series of eruptions wiped out Pompeii over 48 hours. Contrary to popular belief, some ancient African civilizations were highly advanced and capable of spectacular engineering accomplishments. Many of these ancient societies built architectural wonders using construction expertise that has stumped civil engineers and historians until recent years. Could the Atlantean civilization have finally passed some secrets on to civilizations in Africa? Considering the degree of scientific and technological development that we have reached in only three thousand years, we can easily imagine the amount of knowledge accumulated by previous ancient civilization.

What I found on Mt. St. Helens - This has been amazing to explore Climbing to the top of Mt. Saint Helens and looking down into the massive crater below was a truly amazing bucket list item for me. It was the hardest climb of my life, but absolutely worth it. However I had no idea of the unbelievable magnitude of destruction the eruption left below the mountain. St. Helens erupted May 18th 1980 with such force that it changed the surrounding landscape and destroyed everything in it. Finding all the mangled abandoned trucks still sitting on the county side...

The lava beds were laid down in a series of colossal volcanic eruptions that occurred between 63 - 67 million years ago. The timing of the eruptions coincides with the disappearance...
