Video technology and science converge on an active volcano in Vanuatu, where explorer Sam Cossman operated camera-mounted drones to capture high-definition images of the spectacular yet dangerous Marum Crater. Cossman and his team piloted the drones over the 7.5-mile-wide (12-kilometer) caldera while confronting toxic gases and boiling lava. Although two drones succumbed to the harsh environment, the team was able to bring back video and photos that will help scientists learn more about the volcano and the life around it. ➡ Subscribe: http://bit.ly/NatGeoSubscribe About National Geographic: National Geographic is the world's premium destination for science, exploration, and adventure. NASA’s $3.5 Billion Idea To Save Earth From A Supervolcano Apocalypse

Yellowstone National Park sits atop a massive supervolcano that’s considered one of the greatest volcano threats in the county.  While experts estimate that a super-eruption might not happen for another few million years, NASA scientists performed a thought experiment to determine how we could prevent Yellowstone from ever erupting again. Their hypothetical idea involves cooling the volcano down by pumping cold water into a series of wells around its perimeter. If implemented, the scenario could potentially save Earth from a super-volcano apocalypse. ------------------------------------------------------ #NASA #Volcano #TechInsider Tech Insider tells you all you need to know about tech: gadgets, how-to's, gaming, science, digital culture,...
