Inspiration4 | Launch

On Wednesday, September 15 at 8:02 p.m. EDT, 00:02 UTC on September 16, SpaceX’s Falcon 9 successfully launched the Inspiration4 mission – the world’s first all-civilian human spaceflight to orbit – from historic Launch Complex 39A at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida. Approximately three days after liftoff, Dragon and the crew of Inspiration4 will splash down at one of several possible landing sites off the Florida coast. Follow Dragon’s journey in the tracker above as the Inspiration4 crew orbits Earth approximately every 90 minutes. Inspiration4 is commanded by Jared Isaacman, founder and CEO of Shift4 Payments and an accomplished pilot...

Transporter-2 Mission

On Wednesday, June 30 at 3:31 p.m. EDT, Falcon 9 launched the Transporter-2, SpaceX’s second dedicated SmallSat Rideshare Program mission, from Space Launch Complex 40 at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida. The mission also marked SpaceX’s second launch to a polar orbit from Florida. This was the eighth launch and landing of this Falcon 9 first stage booster in exactly one year, which previously supported launch of GPS III Space Vehicle 03, Turksat 5A, and five Starlink missions. Following stage separation, SpaceX landed Falcon 9’s first stage on Landing Zone 1 (LZ-1) at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station. On...

Falcon Heavy Test Flight

Following its first test launch, Falcon Heavy is now the most powerful operational rocket in the world by a factor of two. With the ability to lift into orbit nearly 64 metric tons (141,000 lb)---a mass greater than a 737 jetliner loaded with passengers, crew, luggage and fuel--Falcon Heavy can lift more than twice the payload of the next closest operational vehicle, the Delta IV Heavy, at one-third the cost. Falcon Heavy draws upon the proven heritage and reliability of Falcon 9. Its first stage is composed of three Falcon 9 nine-engine cores whose 27 Merlin engines together generate more...

Starlink Update: New V3 Terminal, Gen2 Satellites & 100K Customers 📡

Starlink is reportedly getting ready to rollout a new version of its 'satellite dish' which will be more rectangular. This new V3 terminal will be much cheaper to ship, and is designed for automated mass production (at profitable margins). It's performance is reportedly improved as well. SpaceX has detailed plans to begin launching Gen2 satellites, eventually with Starship. Boosting its capacity for launch from 60 satellites to 400. Elon Musk has confirmed that more than 100K Starlink Terminals have been shipped, by my estimates this puts the company's recurring revenue run-rate at $119M+! Let me know your thoughts in the...
